Effect of Hydrocortisone on Growth Rates of Normai and Transformed Human Foreskin Ceils Culture

Abstract

|
The effects of hydrocortisone on the cell growth of normal human foreskin cells and adenovirus type 12-simian murine sarcoma virus 40 hybrid viruses (Ad 12-SV 40) transforned human foreskin cells were examined. In normal human foreskin cell line, hydrocortisone had little effect on the inhibition of the cell proliferation. But in early stage of norinal human foreskin cell line, hydrocortisone had inhibitory effect on the cell proliferation. In Ad 12-SV40 hybrid virus-transformed human foreskin cell line, hydrocortisone make induced the inhibition of the cell proliferation. The inhibitory effect of hydrocortisore on the cell proliferation is postulated the binding to receptor system in cytosol.
